Loviisa Artists’ Studio is one of the oldest artists in residence programs in Finland. It was founded by metal artist Jouni Jäppinen, ceramic artist Elina Sorainen, visual artist Jan Lindh and poet Kai Nieminen in 1995. 150 artists, national and international, have worked at Loviisa Artists’ Studio.
The City of Loviisa has discontinued supporting Loviisa Artists’ Studio due to economic reasons. The residency will be closed after December 2021.
